World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like a perfectly broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons don't change much post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats like crit chance, attack damage, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. In some instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon can sustain by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity as well as its current level. For example an item upgrader with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the gun will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of their base. This is generally a positive factor, but it could also have negative consequences. In the case of items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them could make them unusable unless you happen to have an extremely fortunate roll.

The ability to upgrade armor items to boost their effectiveness. In the case of chests or helms, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with the relative values of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item upgrader kit menu using the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item upgrader kit and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's levels or bind to account status.

Armor

A few tweaks to your armor can make a a huge difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This makes it easier to navigate difficult areas. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you will get from each point of health and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as you can.

To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the corresponding fountain and then you can talk to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a good-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few of your friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll have to focus on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have a few upgrades of the chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give the player with a temporary effect. There are five types of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, enhancing their effectiveness. In addition the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust the potions.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a table or in the Alchemist's chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item level upgrade's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you choose the potion that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they'll provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.

Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Additionally, using a potentio on a full cauldron, it drains the liquid and refills the bottle.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effects. The potion table has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket could be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't essential as a Thimble. In some cultures, a trinket is used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets, unlike other items that can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing stats.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It can be done by the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the old one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are no longer needed and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the Best item upgrade-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they will not replace in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when selecting the items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.

When they are no longer useful trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it is saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
