World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stat and can give it extras depending on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs, and Goldwraps for build casters.

Armour

Armour is among the key things that keeps Link protected from damage in all situations. Although it cannot be upgraded like weapons, you can improve its defence capabilities in a variety of ways.

Armour is designed to shield people or animals from injury or harm from direct physical attack or a range of environmental or activity hazards. In the past, armour was primarily constructed from leather or fabric, but later metal protections were used as well for military purposes, particularly like heavy cavalry or combat drones.

There are a variety of ways to upgrade armour but the majority of them require you to visit one of four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a distinct degree of improvement and more protection levels requiring more rupees and other materials.

First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been applied they aren't able to be removed until you own a different piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is essential to only apply the most effective level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have enough of the required materials to complete the upgrade.

When it comes to acquiring the required upgrade components, you'll find them in various locations around Hyrule, including shrines, merchants and even enemies. They are typically marked with an orange triangle or a gold circle and are available in large numbers as you progress. They can appear randomly, but there is a possibility that obtaining certain upgrades will trigger a quest that will reward you with even more.

It's also worth noting that, even though the level of protection provided by each upgrade differs, it is the same across all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a high-defense boost that can protect you from all kinds of attacks, except magic. This makes it an effective weapon for all classes.

Weapons

You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that make them unique. These upgrades can boost damage or alter the performance of the weapon to suit your build. They also allow new attachments, such as unique enchantments, different kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.

To upgrade a weapon, you'll need an upgrade component available as well as the item itself. The weapon should also be at or above a certain point for the upgrade to be effective and the majority of weapons can only accept one upgrade at a time.

Weapon upgrade components are available scattered throughout the world, from the enemy or from merchants. upgrade items components are a mix of components that you can slot into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools in order to gain an attribute bonus. Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then, upgrade the items that you won't replace soon. If you're playing in a melee-based build, for example, upgrade your weapon first, then your chest and shoulders before your feet and hands. Similar principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some procs may be better than others based on the style of play you prefer. Armour is no different, with some refining better than others.

Magic Items

A character can upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade plan is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for the item will not start. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, but they can provide additional benefits.

A magical item upgrader can be any item that has special properties or effects. These items are mostly weapons, but they can also be armors, shields or cloaks as well as potions. They could also be scrolls, rings or other items. Some of these items are telepathic.

Most magical items can be upgraded so that they are infused with additional abilities. This can make them more useful to a player, or it can aid them in overcoming an especially difficult challenge. A weapon that is infused with a special substance might be able to provide additional damage against a specific type of enemy. This is particularly beneficial for characters that have reached a level where they will likely face the same kind of monster repeatedly in dungeons.

A ring with an infusion could grant immunity to bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage from non-magical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a lengthy rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee martial characters or anyone who wants to stay clear of buying an armor.

Certain items enchanted by magic have special abilities that let the character cast spells in addition to the ones on their class's list of spells. This is a great benefit for a character who has difficulty keeping their spell slots full due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table based upon the amount of Intelligence point expended.

Other items that are enchanted can let the user change their appearance, or even create a completely new one. These can be particularly useful for those who have to leave their homes, or are in a location where they might not be accepted. A magical item could grant them an invisibility effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone except a chosen person.

Utility Items

Utility items are equipment that do not fall under the categories of clothing, armor or Weapons, and provide a range of different capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor they are not a single utility item upgrading that will be in conflict with the other. Most utility items provide an effect that a player can activate when using them, however, some come with additional capabilities that activate when the user presses a button or activates an ability.

The Flashlight is the most common utility item. It illuminates the surrounding area. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while moving and the Jetpack which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. Several useful items can be immediately produced in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through research projects or experimental projects at the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items available in the regular inventory, players can also unlock additional useful items of utility by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items are upgradeable to make them more effective.

The majority of utility items give the player an advantage in navigation or boost a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, created by the Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, made by an Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other useful items like Writs and Theses made by the Scribe can be used to give players an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.

All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one utility item at the beginning of the campaign, and an additional slot becomes available by acquiring certain types of armor or completing engineering, research or experimental projects in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which lets the player equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade is placed in the main slot for grenades.
